Well, here we are! Welcome to StayingVegan.com!
OK, if you’re reading this, you might be wondering where TasteBetter.com, or JuicySmooth.com, or EazyVegan.com, or SpawnBetter.com went. Basically, they’ve merged into the same magic animal.
For the past 3 or 4 months, we’ve been pumping out a ton of new websites about specific bits of veganism, and I think that approach has a lot of merit (I’ve written a whole series of posts about it,) but ultimately it doesn’t work for our particular operation, for a bunch of reasons that I’m not going to get into here but would be happy to talk about if you want.
The one common element we’ve found in the past several months is that we’re working on making veganism suck less. I talk about it more in the about page, but there’s a lot of focus on getting people to go vegan, and convincing people it’s easy to go vegan, but from the feedback I’ve been getting, there’s a real gap in the “OK, I’m vegan, now what?” category, and it tends to be the same resources for staying vegan that got people vegan in the first place. We can do better, and I think that’s what I’ve been unconsciously working towards for a while now. This just makes it official.
Most things are staying the same, just closer together, is all. The weekly newsletter will continue (it’ll be the core Taste Better stuff plus update notifications for the other items,) we’re still on Twitter, etc. The only real difference is that there’s a site that’ll get more frequent updates overall, so if you’re a fan of all of our work it’ll be easier for you to find it.
Barnivore, Vegan Porn, and Sell Your Message will continue to exist on their own, but we’ll have links to their updates in our handy sidebar (maybe not so much Barnivore, since it’s not quite the same kind of site; we’re still working that part out.)
We think this will make a better overall experience for everyone (I always felt a little weird about talking veganism on Taste Better when it didn’t mention veganism anywhere in the headline, for example,) but I’d love to hear what you think! If you could send me a quick mail (and of course sign up for the newsletter and Facebook and Twitter and all that stuff) I’d appreciate it!
Thanks for reading,
